     Hon. Jean Astley was born on 17 April 1917.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Albert Edward Delavel Astley, 21st Lord Hastings and Lady Marguerite Helen Nevill.¹ She married Lr.-Cdr. Mark Napier on 28 June 1945.¹
     Hon. Jean Astley gained the rank of 3rd Officer in the service of the Women's Royal NAval Service.¹ From 28 June 1945, her married name became Napier.¹ She lived in 2003 at 12 Grassmere Close, Felpham, Bognor Regis, Sussex, England.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Edmond Roche Elles was born on 9 June 1848.¹ He was the son of Malcolm J. Elles.¹ He married Clare Gertrude Rothney, daughter of General unknown Rothney, in 1878.¹ He died on 6 January 1934 at age 85.¹
