Lt.-Col. Harold Boyd-Rochfort was born on 18 July 1882.2 He was the son of Major Rochfort Hamilton Boyd-Rochfort and Florence Louisa Hemming.2 He married, firstly, Winifred Akroyd, daughter of John Bathurst Akroyd, on 7 January 1909.1,2 He and Winifred Akroyd were divorced in 1922.2 He married, secondly, Iris Dorothea Taylor, daughter of James Benjamin Taylor, on 24 April 1935.2 He died on 21 April 1960 at age 77.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 4th Scottish Rifles.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.2 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 1st Battalion, Munster Fusiliers.2 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 21st Lancers.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.2 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.2 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.2 He fought in the Second World War, on staff.2 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1946.2
