Michael Patton Keyes was born on 2 October 1921.1 He was the son of Sir Terence Humphrey Keyes and Edith Beatrice McMahon.2 He married Germaine Madeleine Lespinasse, daughter of François Lespinasse, on 4 November 1957.1 He died on 17 July 2008 at age 86.3
He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Frontier Force Regiment, Indian Army.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of the North-West Frontier Province of India in 1946.1 He was director of Jardine Matheson (Japan.)1
