     James Freiherr Washington was born in 1778.1 He died on 5 August 1848 at Munich, Bavaria, Germany.1
     On 7 June 1815 he concluded a treaty between Bavaria and Britain.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the service of the Bavarian Army.1 He was created Freiherr von Washington [Bavaria] on 8 December 1830, by King Ludwig I.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 12 July 1843.1 He was decorated with the award of Legion of Honour.1 He was decorated with the award of Order of the Bavarian Crown.1 He was decorated with the award of Order of the Saviour of Greece.1
