     Sir John Croft, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Archer Croft, 2nd Bt. and Frances Waring.² He died on 4 December 1797, without legitimate issue.¹
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Cowper, of Croft Castle, co. Hereford [E., 1671] on 30 November 1790.¹

     Rev. Sir Herbert Croft, 5th Bt. was born in 1748.¹ He was the son of Herbert Croft and Elizabeth Young.³ He married, firstly, Sophia Cleave, daughter of Richard Cleave.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of David Lewis, on 25 February 1795.¹ He died on 27 April 1816.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.).¹ He wrote the book Love and Madness.¹ He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Croft, of Croft Castle, co. Hereford [E., 1671] on 4 December 1797.¹

     Sophia Cleave was the daughter of Richard Cleave.¹ She married Rev. Sir Herbert Croft, 5th Bt., son of Herbert Croft and Elizabeth Young.¹ She died on 8 February 1792.¹
      Her married name became Croft.

     Herbert Croft was born on 14 June 1718.¹ He was the son of Francis Croft and Grace Bramston.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Young, daughter of Richard Young.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Chawner, daughter of Thomas Chawner.¹ He died on 7 July 1785 at age 67.¹
     He lived at Waterhouse, Essex, England.¹
