     Lt.-Col. Guy Patrick Gilbert Crofton, 7th Baron Crofton of Mote was born on 17 June 1951.1 He was the son of Edward Blaise Crofton, 5th Baron Crofton of Mote and Ann Tighe.2 He married Gillian Susan Burroughs Bass, daughter of Harry Godfrey Mitchell Bass, in 1985.1 He died on 25 November 2007 at age 56.3
     He was educated at Theresianistische Akademie, Vienna, AustriaG.1 He was educated at Midhurst Grammar School, Midhurst, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 9th/12th Royal Lancers (PWO.)1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Lowther-Crofton, of The Moate, co. Roscommon [I., 1758] in 1989.2 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Crofton of Mote, co. Roscommon [I., 1798] in 1989.2 He was Defence Attaché to Berne between 1995 and 1997.1

     John Crofton was baptised on 19 May 1540 at London, England.2 He married Jane Duke, daughter of William Duke, in 1565/66.1,2 He died in 1610 at Ireland.1
     He was Keeper of the Signet and Clerk of the Council of Connaught on 1 June 1569.2 He held the office of Auditor and Escheator-General of Ireland from 16 January 1575/76 to 1597.1,2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Sligo in 1585.3 He lived at Ballymurray, County Roscommon, IrelandG.1
