     James Crofton was the son of Edward Crofton and Ann Crofton.2 He married Elizabeth Robinson, daughter of Captain Edward Robinson.1 He died in 1755.1
      In 1731 he turned Protestant and eventually inherited the estates, his father and brothers having been attainted as Catholics.1 He lived at Longford House, County Sligo, Ireland.1

     Malby Crofton was born in 1741.1 He was the son of James Crofton and Elizabeth Robinson.2 He married Elizabeth Kelly, daughter of Ignatius Kelly, in July 1772.1 He died on 29 January 1808.3,4
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 90th Regiment.5 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Sligo in 1770.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Sligo.5 He lived at Longford House, County Sligo, Ireland.1

     Sir James Crofton, 1st Bt. was born on 8 August 1776.1 He was the son of Malby Crofton and Elizabeth Kelly.2 He married Marion Lyster, daughter of Reverend John Lyster, on 13 October 1794.1 He died in 1849.3
     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Sligo Militia.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Sligo.1 He was created 1st Baronet Crofton, of Longford House, co. Sligo [U.K.] on 18 August 1838.1
