Reverend William Hornby1

     Reverend William Hornby was born on 26 February 1810.2 He was the son of Reverend Hugh Hornby and Ann Starky.2 He married, firstly, Ellen Dorothea Cross, daughter of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers, on 17 January 1837.1 He married, secondly, Susan Charlotte Hornby, daughter of Admiral Sir Phipps Hornby and Maria Sophia Burgoyne, on 18 April 1844.2 He died on 20 December 1899 at age 89.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He was the Vicar at St. Michael's, Lancashire, England.2 He held the office of Archdeacon of Lancaster.1

     Georgiana Lyon was the daughter of Thomas Lyon.2 She married Richard Assheton Cross, 1st Viscount Cross, son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers, on 4 May 1852.1 She died on 20 January 1907.1
      From 4 May 1852, her married name became Cross. As a result of her marriage, Georgiana Lyon was styled as Viscountess Cross on 19 August 1886. She was invested as a Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.).1

     Hon. William Henry Cross was born on 22 August 1856.1 He was the son of Richard Assheton Cross, 1st Viscount Cross and Georgiana Lyon.2 He married Mary Lewthwaite, daughter of William Lewthwaite and Mary Challinor, on 19 August 1880.3 He died on 11 December 1892 at age 36.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool.1

     William Lewthwaite was born on 5 March 1826.2 He is the son of John Lewthwaite and Anne Kirkbank.3 He married Mary Challinor, daughter of William Challinor, on 11 December 1851.2 He died on 23 April 1867 at age 41.2
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).2 He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He graduated with a Macclesfield and Trin College Cambridge Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He lived at Broadgate, Cumberland, England.1
