Hugh de Mortimer, 1st and last Lord Mortimer1

     Hugh de Mortimer, 1st and last Lord Mortimer was the son of Robert de Mortimer and Joyce la Zouche.2 He married Maud de Marshal before 1290.2 He died on 20 July 1304, without male issue, after his wife poisoned hiim, possibly accidentally.2
     He was created 1st Lord Mortimer [England by writ] on 6 February 1298/99.1 He fought in the Siege of Carlaverock in 1300.2

     Sir Bryan Cornwall was born in 1355.1 He was the son of Sir Geoffrey Cornwall and Cecilia Seymour.1 He married Matilda (?)1 He died in 1400, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baron Burford, Shropshire [feudal barony] in 1365.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1378.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire between 1378 and 1380.1
