     Brigadier Basil Hildebrand Hopkins married Madeline Alix Brandreth, daughter of Major Edgar Brandreth and Maud Geraldine Currie, on 14 June 1928.1 He died on 5 January 1960.1
     Brigadier Basil Hildebrand Hopkins gained the rank of Brigadier in the service of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.1 On December 1951 his name was legally changed to Basil Hildebrand Ryes Hopkins by Deed Poll.1
