     William Close Currie was born on 9 December 1826.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Currie, 1st Bt. and Susannah Larkins.2 He married Harriet Gardiner Browne, daughter of John Browne, on 9 October 1851.1 He died on 10 January 1865 at age 38.1
