     Lt.-Col. Herbert George Anderson Garsia was born on 5 February 1871 at Ireland.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Michael Clare Garsia and Jane Margaret Anderson.1 He married Myra Mary Fottrell, daughter of Sir George Fottrell, on 8 October 1919 at St. Mary's Church, Cardogan Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He died on 23 January 1965 at age 93 at 58 Wellington Road, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 11 May 1893 in the service of the East Surrey Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April 1894 in the service of the Army Service Crops.1 He was with the Egyptian Army between 31 December 1897 and 17 August 1902.1 He fought in the Sudan Campaign in 1898.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) on 31 October 1902.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on 2 February 1914.1 He fought in the First World War, as Assistant Adjutant-General, Egyptian Army.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) on 6 December 1919.1
