Geoffrey de Say1

     Geoffrey de Say was born circa 1155 at West Greenwich, Kent, England.1,2 He was the son of Geoffrey de Say and Alice Maminot.3 He married, firstly, Alice de Chesney, daughter of John de Chesney.1 He married, secondly, Margery Briwere, daughter of unknown Briwere, after 1225.1 He and Margery Briwere were divorced.1 He died on 24 August 1230 at Gascoigne, Poitou, FranceG.1,2
     In 1210 he was in Ireland with King John's army, one of the barons (magnates rather than peers of Parliament) opposed to John and one of the 25 assigned to see that Magna Charta was observed.1 He was a pilgrim to the Holy Land in 1219.1

William de Say1

     William de Say was the son of Geoffrey de Say and Alice de Chesney.2 He married, firstly, Sibyl Marshal, daughter of John Marshal.1 He married, secondly, Mary (?).1 He died before 12 February 1271/72.1
     He held the office of Governor of Rochester Castle between 1205 and 1271.3 In April 1230 he accompanied his father to France.1 In 1237 he witnessed the treaty between King Henry III and King Alexander II of Scotland.1 In 1242 he accompanied King Henry III to France.1
From 1253 to 1254 he accompanied King Henry III to France and captured seven French prisoners in a skirmish at Saintes on 22 July 1242.1 He fought in the Battle of Lewes in 1264, for King Henry III.1

Sibyl Marshal1

     Sibyl Marshal was the daughter of John Marshal.1 She married William de Say, son of Geoffrey de Say and Alice de Chesney.1 She died after October 1250.1

     William de Say was born on 20 November 1253.1 He was the son of William de Say and Sibyl Marshal.2 He married Elizabeth (?).1 He died before 16 September 1295.1
     In 1277 he was summoned to serve against the Welsh.1 In 1282/83 he was summoned to serve against the Welsh.1

     Geoffrey de Say, 1st Lord Say was born between 1279 and 1281.1 He was the son of William de Say and Elizabeth (?).2 He married Idonia de Leyburn, daughter of William de Leyburn, 1st Lord Leyburn.1 He died before 3 March 1321/22.1
     From 1310 to 1311 he was called up for military service against the Scots.1 He was created 1st Lord Say [England by writ] on 26 July 1313.1
