Maj.-Gen. Hon. Maurice Anthony Wingfield was born on 21 June 1883. He was the son of Mervyn Wingfield, 7th Viscount Powerscourt and Lady Julia Coke. He married Sybil Frances Leyland, daughter of Frederick Dawson Leyland, on 10 October 1906. He died on 14 April 1956 at age 72.
