     Ellen Adelaide Minchin was born on 4 April 1840.1 She was the daughter of Reverend William Minchin and Mary Anne Wright.2 She married Henry Richard Nicholls.1 She died in 1908.1
     Her married name became Nicholls.

     Charles Humphrey Minchin was born in 1798.3 He was the son of William Minchin and Rebecca Minchin.2 He married, firstly, Amelia Wright, daughter of Corker Wright, in 1817.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor Gavin in 1860 at Birr, County Offaly, Ireland.1,3 He died in 1884.1 He was also reported to have died in 1874.3
     Charles Humphrey Minchin was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1814 in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for King's County.1 He lived at Rutland, Birr, County Offaly, Ireland.1
