     Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse was born on 15 October 1881.1 He was the son of Henry Ernest Wodehouse and Eleanor Deane.3 He married Ethel May Newton on 30 September 1914.1 He died on 14 February 1975 at age 93 at Southampton, New York, U.S.A., without issue.1,2
     He became Leonora Wodehouse's adoptive father.2 He was educated at Dulwich College, Dulwich, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was with Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.1 He was a dramatist and author of over 100 books, notably the Jeeves/Wooster and Blandings Castle series.1 He was a broadcaster.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1939.1 He was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1955.1 He was appointed Knight in 1975.1

     Ethel May Newton married, firstly, Leonard Rowley before 1914.1 She married, secondly, Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, son of Henry Ernest Wodehouse and Eleanor Deane, on 30 September 1914.1
     From before 1914, her married name became Rowley.1 From 30 September 1914, her married name became Wodehouse.

Cook, daughter of William Wallace Cook, on 8 August 1925.1 He married, secondly, Winifred Baker Brown, daughter of Brig.-Gen. William Baker Brown, on 5 February 1934.1 He died on 20 May 1940 at age 47.1
