     Sir Ernest Ridley Debenham, 1st Bt. was born on 26 May 1865.1 He was the son of Frank Debenham and Emma Folkhard Ridley.2 He married Cecily Kenrick, daughter of Rt. Hon. William Kenrick and Mary Chamberlain, on 8 November 1892.1 He died on 25 December 1952 at age 87.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was chairman of Debenhams.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Debenham, of Bladen, Dorset [U.K.] on 28 January 1931.1
