     Virginia Mary Debenham was born on 25 April 1936.1 She is the daughter of Sir Gilbert Ridley Debenham, 3rd Bt. and Violet Mary Higgins.2 She married, firstly, Graham Leslie Nicol on 24 April 1960.1 She and Graham Leslie Nicol were divorced in February 1982.1 She married, secondly, Nigel Denison Purchon, son of Richard Deninson Purchon and Diana Foss, on 22 February 1982.1
     Virginia Mary Debenham was educated at Cranborne Chase School, Dorset, England.1 She graduated from London University, London, England, with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).1 From 24 April 1960, her married name became Nicol. From 22 February 1982, her married name became Purchon. She lived in 2003 at Mitchell's Elm House, Wanstrow, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England.1
