     Lady Edith Hester Browne was born on 12 March 1860. She was the daughter of Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo and Catherine Henrietta Dicken.1 She married John George Charles on 4 June 1881. She died on 6 March 1936 at age 75.
     Her married name became Charles.

     Ulick de Burgh Browne, 7th Marquess of Sligo was born on 30 March 1898. He was the son of George Ulick Browne, 6th Marquess of Sligo and Agatha Stewart Hodgson. He died on 7 January 1941 at age 42, unmarried.
     Ulick de Burgh Browne, 7th Marquess of Sligo gained the title of 7th Marquess of Sligo. He succeeded to the title of 5th Earl of Galway, co. Galway [I., 1800] on 26 February 1935.1

     James Richard Stanhope, 7th Earl Stanhope was born on 11 November 1880.1 He was the son of Arthur Philip Stanhope, 6th Earl Stanhope and Evelyn Henrietta Pennefather.1 He married Lady Eileen Agatha Browne, daughter of George Ulick Browne, 6th Marquess of Sligo and Agatha Stewart Hodgson, on 16 April 1921.1 He died on 15 August 1967 at age 86.1
     James Richard Stanhope, 7th Earl Stanhope succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Stanhope of Elvaston, co. Derby [G.B., 1717] on 19 April 1905.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Viscount Stanhope of Mahon, in the island of Minorca [G.B., 1717] on 19 April 1905.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Earl Stanhope [G.B., 1718] on 19 April 1905.1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.).1 He succeeded to the title of 13th Baron Stanhope of Shelford, co. Nottingham [E., 1616] on 2 August 1952.3 He succeeded to the title of 13th Earl of Chesterfield, co. Derby [E., 1628] on 2 August 1952.3
     On his death, his two earldoms and the Barony of Stanhope of Shelford became extinct.1
