     Daniel de Hoghton was baptised with the name of Daniel Bold-Hoghton.³ On 4 January 1875 his name was legally changed to Daniel de Hoghton by Royal Licence.³ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.¹ He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.).¹

     Mary Jones was the daughter of Henry Jones.² She married Daniel de Hoghton, son of Sir Henry Bold-Hoghton, 8th Bt. and Harriet Sarah Smith, in 1888.¹ She died on 22 November 1933.¹
