Philip Mervyn Maunsell Townshend was born on 2 September 1901.1 He was the son of Samuel Philip Townshend and Isabella Blanche Richardson.2 He died in 1917, drowned whilst on duty in English Channel.1

Richard Denis Hare Townshend was born on 22 November 1908.1 He is the son of Samuel Philip Townshend and Isabella Blanche Richardson.2 He married Muriel Dorothy Dawborn, daughter of Frederick Rudolph Dawborn, on 15 September 1937.1
