     Peter Denny was born on 29 October 1821.1 He was the son of William Denny and Christian McIntyre.2 He married Helen Leslie, daughter of James Leslie, on 26 January 1846.1 He died on 22 August 1895 at age 73.1
     Peter Denny graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dunbartonshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dunbartonshire.1 He lived at Helenslee, Dumbarton, Scotland.1

     Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt. was born on 7 February 1860.1 He was the son of Peter Denny and Helen Leslie.2 He married Margaret Tulloch, daughter of John Tulloch, in 1885.1 He died on 29 May 1936 at age 76.1
     Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt. was a director of William Denny & Brothers, shipbuilders and engineerrs (builders of the Cutty Sark).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Dunbartonshire Rifle Volunteers.1 He was created 1st Baronet Denny [U.K.] on 16 June 1913.1

     Sir Maurice Edward Denny, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 February 1886.1 He is the son of Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt. and Margaret Tulloch.2 He married Marjorie Lysaght, daughter of William Royse Lysaght, on 23 November 1916.1 He died on 2 February 1955 at age 68.1
     Sir Maurice Edward Denny, 2nd Bt. graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).1 He was Chairman of the Air Registration Board between 1935 and 1936.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Denny [U.K., 1913] on 29 May 1936.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1946.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) in 1949.1 He was president of William Denny & Brothers (liquidated in 1963).1
