     Cecil Violet Vernon-Harcourt was born on 17 November 1875. She was the daughter of Augustus George Vernon-Harcourt and Hon. Rachel Mary Bruce. She married Nowell Charles Smith, son of Horace Smith, on 25 June 1901. She died on 24 January 1961 at age 85.
