     Reverend John Byers was baptised on 5 June 1830.1 He was the son of Samuel Byers and Susan Maclean.2 He married Margaret Morrow, daughter of Andrew Morrow, in 1852.1 He died in 1853, at sea near New York.1
     He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1846 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1847 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was educated at College of New Jersey, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A.G.1 He was a missionary in China for the American Board of Missions.1

Samuel Byers1

     Samuel Byers was born on 3 October 1838.1 He was the son of Samuel Byers and Susan Maclean.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Mandale, daughter of Isaac Mandale and Martha Bell, on 16 January 1868.1 He married, secondly, Jane Halliwell Dempster, daughter of Robert Dempster, on 3 June 1899.1 He died on 11 March 1922 at age 83.1
     He was Land Commissioner.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Armagh.1 He lived at Mowhan House, Mowhan, County Armagh, IrelandG.1

     Mandale Byers was born on 3 March 1870.1 He was the son of Samuel Byers and Elizabeth Mandale.2,1 He married Maud Mary Hamilton Leslie, daughter of George Leslie and Alice Hamilton, on 18 November 1919.1 He died on 28 October 1923 at age 53.1
     He was educated at Royal Academy, Armagh, County Armagh, IrelandG.1 He graduated from Queen's College, Belfast, County Antrim, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from Queen's College, Belfast, County Antrim, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He lived at St. Anne's-on-Sea, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He lived at Mowhan House, Mowhan, County Armagh, IrelandG.1

     From 18 November 1919, her married name became Byers.

Alice Mary Hamilton Byers1

     Alice Mary Hamilton Byers was born on 2 October 1920.1 She is the daughter of Mandale Byers and Maud Mary Hamilton Leslie.2 She married Major John Wheeler Aggleton, son of Hubert Poile Aggleton, on 2 March 1955.1
     She was in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.1 She was awarded the Knight, Order of Leopold II of Belgium.1 She was awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1946 Belgian, avec palme.1 She retired from the military in 1955, with the rank of Major, late of the Women's Royal Army Corps.1 From 2 March 1955, her married name became Aggleton.
