Major Alfred Bellingham Cairnes was born on 19 December 1875.1 He was the son of Thomas Plunket Cairnes and Sophia Gaussen.2,1 He married Katharine Jessie Winsloe, daughter of Richard Winsloe, on 24 June 1903.1 He died on 9 September 1916 at age 40 at France, killed in action.1

Katharine Jessie Winsloe was the daughter of Richard Winsloe.1 She married, firstly, Major Alfred Bellingham Cairnes, son of Thomas Plunket Cairnes and Sophia Gaussen, on 24 June 1903.1 She married, secondly, William Fitzgerald Tuthill, son of Captain John Fitzgerald Tuthill, on 10 June 1918.1 She died on 27 January 1958.1
