Hon. Thomas Stapleton was born on 24 April 1792. He was the son of Sir Thomas Stapleton, 16th Baron Le Despencer and Elizabeth Eliot. He married Maria Wynne Banks, daughter of Henry Banks, on 2 February 1816. He died on 1 June 1829 at age 37.
