William Norton, 2nd Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield was born on 19 February 1741/42.1 He was the son of Fletcher Norton, 1st Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield and Grace Chapple.1 He married Anna Margaretta Midgley, daughter of Jonathan Midgley, on 27 September 1791.1 He died on 12 November 1822 at age 80, without issue.1

Fletcher Norton, 3rd Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield was born on 14 July 1798.1 He was the son of Hon. Fletcher Norton and Caroline Elizabeth Balmain.1 He married Charlotte Earle Beechey, daughter of Sir William Beechey, on 26 July 1825.1 He died on 28 August 1875 at age 77, without issue.1
He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Battle of Quartre Bras.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo, where he was wounded.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Lord Grantley, Baron of Markenfield, co. York [G.B., 1782] on 12 November 1822.1 He held the office of High Steward of Allerton and Guildford.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).1
