     Reverend Basil Tilson Shaen Carter was born on 2 February 1858.1 He was the son of Thomsa Shaen Carter and Maria Susan Tilson.2 He married Mary Beatrice Eastwood, daughter of John Fisher Eastwood, in July 1892.1 He died on 11 March 1896 at age 38, without issue.1

     Mary Beatrice Eastwood was Sister of Oxford Mission to Calcutta.1 From July 1892, her married name became Carter.
