     Thomas Fitzwilliam, 1st Viscount Fitzwilliam of Merrion was born in 1581.2 He was the son of Sir Richard Fitzwilliam.1 He married Hon. Margaret Plunkett, daughter of Oliver Plunkett, 4th Baron Louth and Frances Bagenal, in 1605.2 He died in 1650.2
     He gained the title of 1st Viscount Fitzwilliam of Merrion.
