Mary Fitzwilliam is the daughter of Sir Richard Fitzwilliam.2 She married, firstly, Matthew Plunkett, 5th Baron Louth, son of Oliver Plunkett, 4th Baron Louth and Frances Bagenal, before 1629.2 She married, secondly, Gerald Aylmer, son of Christopher Aylmer, after 1629.2
From before 1629, her married name became Plunkett.2 From after 1629, her married name became Aylmer.2 As a result of her marriage, Mary Fitzwilliam was styled as Dowager Baroness Louth.1

Sir Gerald Aylmer, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1640.2 He was the son of Sir Christopher Aylmer, 1st Bt. and Margaret Plunkett.1 He married Mary Bellew, daughter of Sir John Bellew and Mary Dillon, in January 1664/65.1 He died in June 1702.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered to his widow on 16 June 1702.2
On 17 August 1663 he was adjudged "an innocent Papist" by the COurt of Claims.2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Aylmer, of Balrath, co. Meath [I., 1662] in September 1671.1
