Colonel Colville Frankland was born on 6 November 1839.2 He is the son of Sir Frederick William Frankland, 8th Bt. and Katherine Margaret Scarth.2 He married Mary Jay Dawson, daughter of William Dawson, on 22 September 1870.2 He died on 22 December 1913 at age 74.2
He fought in the Indian Mutiny.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers.2
