     Colonel Sir William Adolphus Frankland, 9th Bt. was born on 12 August 1837.2 He was the son of Sir Frederick William Frankland, 8th Bt. and Katherine Margaret Scarth.2 He married Lucy Ducarel Adams, daughter of Francis Adams, on 25 February 1864.2 He died on 29 November 1883 at age 46.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Frankland, of Thirkleby [E., 1660] on 11 March 1878.2

     Lucy Ducarel Adams was the daughter of Francis Adams.1 She married Colonel Sir William Adolphus Frankland, 9th Bt., son of Sir Frederick William Frankland, 8th Bt. and Katherine Margaret Scarth, on 25 February 1864.1 She died on 21 February 1928.1
     Her married name became Frankland.

     Sir Frederick William Frankland, 8th Bt. was born on 11 May 1793.1 He was the son of Reverend Roger Frankland and Hon. Catherine Colville.1 He married Katherine Margaret Scarth, daughter of Isaac Scarth, on 21 August 1821.1 He died on 11 March 1878 at age 84.1
     He was educated at Military College, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars between December 1812 and 1814.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.1 He sold Muntham estate in 1839.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Frankland, of Thirkleby [E., 1660] on 11 March 1849.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sussex.1

     Reverend Roger Frankland was the son of Admiral Sir Thomas Frankland, 5th Bt. and Sarah Rhett.2 He married Hon. Catherine Colville, daughter of John Colville, 8th Lord Colville of Culross and Amelia Webber, on 14 June 1792.1 He died on 25 March 1826.1
     He held the office of Canon of Wells.1 He was the Rector at Yarlington, Somerset, EnglandG.2

     Hon. Catherine Colville was the daughter of John Colville, 8th Lord Colville of Culross and Amelia Webber.2 She married Reverend Roger Frankland, son of Admiral Sir Thomas Frankland, 5th Bt. and Sarah Rhett, on 14 June 1792.1 She died on 19 September 1843.1
     Her married name became Frankland.

John Colville, 8th Lord Colville of Culross1

     John Colville, 8th Lord Colville of Culross was born on 24 January 1724/25.1 He was the son of John Colville, 6th Lord Colville of Culross and Elizabeth Johnston.2 He married Amelia Webber on 18 July 1758.1 He died on 8 March 1811 at age 86.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the 21st Fusiliers.1 He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745.1 He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1746.1 He was Inspector-General of Outposts in Scotland.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Colville of Culross [S., 1604] on 21 May 1770.1

     Admiral Sir Thomas Frankland, 5th Bt. was born on 26 June 1718.2 He was the son of Henry Frankland and Mary Cross.1 He married Sarah Rhett in May 1743.1 He died on 21 November 1784 at age 66 at Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Thirsk between 1747 and 1780.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Frankland, of Thirkleby [E., 1660] on 11 January 1768.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Thirsk in 1784.1
