     George William Robert Stacpoole was born on 27 May 1872.1 He was the son of Richard Stacpoole and Alice Julia Westropp.2 He died on 10 September 1939 at age 67, unmarried.2
     He was educated at St. Columba's College, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He was Adjutant of the 5th Royal Munster Fusiliers (co Limerick Regiment) between 1901 and 1906.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian.1 He was awarded the Order of Leopold of Belgium.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the South Staffordshire Regiment.1
