     Thomas Henry Devitt was born on 25 March 1800.1 He was the son of Andrew Devitt and Elizabeth (?).2 He married Margaret Lane, daughter of Barzillai Lane, on 6 February 1838.1 He died on 17 February 1860 at age 59.1

Sir Thomas Lane Devitt, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Lane Devitt, 1st Bt. was born on 28 March 1839.1 He was the son of Thomas Henry Devitt and Margaret Lane.2 He married Fanny Theodora Pye-Smith, daughter of Ebenezer Pye-Smith, on 26 February 1863.1 He died on 8 December 1923 at age 84.1
     He was senior partner of Devitt and Moore.1 He was Founder of Devitt and Moore Nautical College, Pangbourne.1 He was President of the Institute of Shipbrokers.1 He was chairman of Lloyd's Register Shipping between 1909 and 1920.1 He was created 1st Baronet Devitt, of Chelsea, in the County of London [U.K.] on 4 July 1916.1
