     Margaret Eliza Fairlie was the daughter of William Fairlie.2 She married, firstly, John Stuart Hay-Newton, son of William Hay-Newton and Alicia Foster, on 4 August 1829.2 She married, secondly, Major Robert Duncan Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 12 May 1866.1 She died on 21 January 1888.1
     From 4 August 1829, her married name became Hay-Newton. From 12 May 1866, her married name became Fergusson.
