     Mary Eleanora Basset Howe was born on 19 June 1920. She is the daughter of Charles Ernest Basset Lothian Howe and Geraldine Fosbery Mills. She married James Malcolm Hay, son of Major Malcolm Vivian Hay and Florence de Thiene, on 19 April 1941.
     Her married name became Hay.

     Charles Ernest Basset Lothian Howe was born in 1885. He was the son of Major Ernest Charles Penn Howe and Edith Basset. He married Geraldine Fosbery Mills, daughter of Sir James Mills, on 13 January 1917. He died on 23 June 1952.

     Major Ernest Charles Penn Howe was born on 24 November 1856. He was the son of Colonel Ernest George Howe and Augusta Latham Hallifax. He married Edith Basset, daughter of Charles Henry Williams and Harriet Mary Basset, on 18 October 1882. He died on 12 February 1938 at age 81.
