     William Makepeace Thackeray Synge was born on 5 August 1860.1 He was the son of William Webb Follett Synge and Henrietta Mary Wrainwright.2 He married, firstly, Ethel Elais Wilkinson, daughter of Alfred Wilkinson, on 12 May 1892.1 He married, secondly, Ethel Rose Bramwell, daughter of Henry Bramwell, on 12 October 1898.1 He died on 13 April 1929 at age 68.1
     William Makepeace Thackeray Synge gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in 1916 in the service of the Recruiting Officer.1 He was the Governor at Walton Prison, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1
