     Jeremiah Dixon was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1726.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire.1 He lived at Gledhow Hall, Yorkshire, England.1
