     Sir Ronald Thomas Stewart Macpherson of Biallid was born on 4 October 1920 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Stewart Macpherson and Helen Cameron.3 He married Jean Henrietta Butler-Wilson, daughter of David Butler Wilson, in 1953.2 He died on 6 November 2014 at age 94.2
     Sir Ronald Thomas Stewart Macpherson of Biallid usually went by his middle name of Thomas.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW in 1941 and escaped in 1943.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) and two bars.2 He was managing director of William Mallison & Sons in 1967.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1968.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Grater London in 1977.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Greater London in 1983.2 He was appointed Knight in 1992.2 He wrote the book Behind Enemy Lines, published 2010.2
