     Sir Ronald Thomas Stewart Macpherson of Biallid was born on 4 October 1920 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Stewart Macpherson and Helen Cameron.3 He married Jean Butler-Wilson in 1953.2 He died on 6 November 2014 at age 94.2
      Sir Ronald Thomas Stewart Macpherson of Biallid usually went by his middle name of Thomas.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW in 1941 and escaped in 1943.2 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.)
