     Dr. Alan Mathison Turing was born on 23 June 1912 at Maida Vale, Westminster, London, England.1 He was the son of Julius Mathison Turing and Ethel Sara Stoney.1 He died on 7 June 1954 at age 41 at Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, probably by suicide.1
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was a Fellow in 1935 at King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was educated between 1936 and 1938 at Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A..1 He graduated from Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A., in 1938 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).1 He was at Bletchley Park during the Second World War, where he helped crack the German Enigma machine, and the Tuny cipher.1 In 1948 FRS, Reader Mathematics Manchester U.2 He was a reader, and deputy director of the computing laboratory between 1948 and 1954 at Manchester University, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).1
