     Nicholas Cummins was born in 1815.1 He was the son of Robert King Cummins and Mary Turner Ashley.2,1 He married Julia Anne Travers, daughter of General Sir Robert Travers and Harriet Letitia Belford, in 1838.1 He died in 1880.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Cork in 1838.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at MyrtlevilleG.1 He lived at Ashley House, St. Patrick's Hill, County Cork, Ireland.1

     Julia Anne Travers was the daughter of General Sir Robert Travers and Harriet Letitia Belford.1,2 She married Nicholas Cummins, son of Robert King Cummins and Mary Turner Ashley, in 1838.1 She died on 13 May 1891.1
     From 1838, her married name became Cummins.

Maj.-Gen. Harry Ashley Vane Cummins1

     Maj.-Gen. Harry Ashley Vane Cummins was born in 1870.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. James Turner Cummins and Louisa Dunman.2 He married Mabel Kennard Greenfield, daughter of William Bunce Greenfield and Mary Jane Kennard, in January 1899.1 He died in 1953.1
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He fought in the China War between 1900 and 1901.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was commander of the 24th Punjabisat Ctesiphon in 1915 when he was wounded.1 He fought in the defense of Kut-el-Amarawhere he was mentioned in despatches between 1915 and 1916.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1 He was Brigade Commander of the Army of the Black Sea in 1920.1 He was General Officer Commanding of the Bombay District between 1922 and 1926.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1924.1 He retired from the military in 1926, with the rank of Major-General, late of the Indian Army.1
