Captain Charles de Burgh was born on 17 July 1886.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Thomas John de Burgh and Emily Anne Fock.2 He married Isabel Caroline Berkeley Campbell, daughter of Reverend Edward Fitzhardinge Campbell, on 1 February 1910.1 He died on 24 January 1973 at age 86.1
He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was with the Mobilization Department, Admiralty between 1923 and 1925.1 He was commander of the H.M.S. Cyclops between 1926 and 1927.1 He was commander of the 6th Submarine Flotilla between 1928 and 1929.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
