     Captain Sir Hubert Henry de Burgh was born on 10 May 1881.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Thomas John de Burgh and Emily Anne Fock.2 He married Mary Edith Margery Isabel Buchan, daughter of John Adye Buchan, on 28 November 1917.2 He died on 6 October 1960 at age 79.2
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War.2 He was decorated with the award of the Legion d'Honneur.2 He was Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.2 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1924.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1941.1 He lived at Oldtown, Naas, County Kildare, Ireland.2
