Edward Francis MacEvoy was born on 5 September 1826.2 He was the son of James MacEvoy and Theresa Meredyth.3 He married Eliza Teresa Browne, daughter of Andrew Browne, on 24 October 1850.2 He died on 10 February 1899 at age 72.2
He was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers).2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Meath between 1855 and 1874.2 He lived at Tobertynan, County Meath, Ireland.2 He lived at Frankford, County Longford, Ireland.2 He lived at Mount Hazel, County Galway, Ireland.2
