     Edward Acton Gibbon was born on 28 December 1873.2 He was the son of William Monk Gibbon and Margaretta Ussher Davis-Goff.2 He married Eleanora Alcock, daughter of Lt.-Col. Nathaniel Alcock, on 2 February 1898.2 He died on 22 July 1965 at age 91.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1896 with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)2 He lived at Rathculliheen, County Waterford, IrelandG.2

     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1932 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture, Trinidad.2 He was Deputy Director of Agriculture before 1956 at NigeriaG.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1956.2 He lived in 1976 at Longraigue, Foulksmills, County Wexford, IrelandG.2
