     Lt.-Col. John Henry Lowndes was the son of Reverend J. Lowndes.2 He married Eliza Mary Massy, daughter of Hugh Massy and Mary Anne Harding, on 19 April 1860.1 He died on 27 July 1909.1
     Lt.-Col. John Henry Lowndes gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 47th Regiment.1 He was invested as a Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.).1

     Sir David Vandeleur Roche, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 June 1833.3 He was the son of Sir David Roche, 1st Bt. and Frances Vandeleur.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Isabella Susannah Adelaide Massey, daughter of Eyre Massey, 3rd Baron Clarina of Elm Park and Susan Elizabeth Barton, on 24 October 1867.3 He married, secondly, Mary Anne Massy, daughter of Hugh Massy and Mary Anne Harding, on 4 December 1872.1 He died on 19 April 1908 at age 74.3
     Sir David Vandeleur Roche, 2nd Bt. was County Limerick: V-Lt, High Sheriff in 1865.3 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of County Limerick in 1865.3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Roche, of Carass, co. Limerick [U.K., 1838] on 8 April 1865.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Limerick.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Limerick.3
