Francis Travers Dames-Longworth was born on 26 April 1834 at Greenhill, County Offaly, Ireland.1 He was the son of Francis Longworth-Dames.1 He married Frances Tennison Noble, daughter of William Noble and Louisa Moore, on 1 August 1860 at St. Anne's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He died on 3 December 1898 at age 64 at Greenhill, County Offaly, Ireland.1
Francis Travers Dames-Longworth was baptised with the name of Francis Travers Longworth-Dames.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1855 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1858 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Bencher of King's Inns in 1876.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Dublin.1 On 1881 his name was legally changed to Francis Travers Dames-Longworth.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Westmeath in 1882.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway in 1890.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Westmeath in 1892.1
