     Matilda Stewart was born illegitimately.2 She is the daughter of Sir James Stewart, 1st of Baldorran and unknown Macdonald.2 She married Sir William Edmonstone, 2nd of Duntreath, son of Sir William Edmondstone, 1st of Duntreath and Lady Mary Stewart.1
      Her married name became Edmonstone.

     Sir William Edmonstone, 4th of Duntreath was the son of Sir Archibald Edmonstone, 3rd of Duntreath and Janet Shaw.2,3 He married Sibylla Baillie, daughter of William Baillie and Marion Home.3 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1
