     William Murray was the son of Sir Patrick Murray, 1st Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Dundas.2 He married, firstly, Isobel Douglas.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Baillie.1 He died on 17 August 1684.1
     On 31 March 1674 he had a charter of Spot.1
