     William Ellot is the son of Robert Elwald of the Redheugh and Jean Scot.2
     His line is extinct.1 He lived at Hartsgarth, Scotland, called ‘Robyns Will.1'

     Gilbert Ellot of Stobs is the son of Robert Elwald of the Redheugh and Jean Scot.2 He married Margaret Scott, daughter of Walter Scott of Harden and Margaret Edgar.1 He died on 24 June 1634.1
     In 1607 he bought Stobs from the heirs of his stepfather Gavin Elliot of Stobs.1

     Walter Scott of Harden is the son of Walter Scott and unknown Riddell.2 He married Mary Scott, daughter of Philip Scott, in March 1567.2 A contract for the marriage of Walter Scott of Harden and Margaret Edgar was signed on 9 April 1598.2,3 He died in June 1631.2
     Walter Scott of Harden also went by the nick-name of 'Auld Watt'.2 In 1563 he succeeded to Harden. Active as a border reiver particularly in 1595. In 1596 he ran a day foray to Gilsland with 400 men. He took 300 cattle, ty hesburnwen hose, taking gold money apperrell worth £400, and burning and mutilating several persons.2

     William Eliott is the son of Gilbert Ellot of Stobs and Margaret Scott.2 A contract for the marriage of William Eliott and Elizabeth Douglas was signed on 28 November 1621.1 He died in July 1654.1
     William Eliott held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburgh between 1640 and 1651.1
